Psoriasis Causes

Psoriasis is one of the diseases which need lots of discussion. However it can be prevented. The psoriasis is the disease which has been listed to affect more than 50 million peoples all over North America. Around 250000 citizens of the US are being affected by this disease every year. There are many causes for this disease. The average age of the psoriasis is 28 but it can affect the people of any age group. It can even affect the children. I would list some of the causes below:

1.Genetic predisposition:
The genetic predisposition seems to play a significant role in the expansion of an acute guttate psoriasis flare. Compared with control populations, a significant excess of HLA-BW17 has been found in patients with guttate psoriasis. Others have found an increase in HLA-B13 positivity. Moreover, the inability to produce normal amounts of antibody to streptomycin-O by HLA-B13-positive individuals might explain the high prevalence in guttate psoriasis. Interestingly, an increased prevalence of HLA-CW6 has also been found. Thus far, psoriasis is the only disease associated with HLA-C gene expression.

Recently, proteomic studies have been able to demonstrate that guttate psoriasis and chronic plaque psoriasis are phenotypically distinguishable in their protein expression patterns.

2.There are some of the things which you will find on your body and are the important cause of the disease. They are as follows:

Allergic reaction to medication.
Chicken pox.
Hormonal changes.
Immunizations.
Medications (antimalarial, beta-blockers, and antiinflamatory).
Physical Trauma.
Psychological stress.
Severe sun burn.
Tonsillitis.
Withdrawal of steroidal medication used to treat psoriasis.

3.It is also quiet an astonishing fact that the doctors still do not know the exact cause for the disease. They are not quiet sure that a certain cells of the immune systems known as the T-cells are involved in the inflammation. The doctors are suspecting that there is some genetic element behind this disease but they have still not able to identify the gene responsible for the disease.

It is really quiet sad to note that the psoriasis is quiet a mystery till date. However lots of researches are being carried out and I must say that we will soon be able to decipher the gene which is responsible for this disease. The lesions related to this disease have certain life span. They diminish after three to four weeks but leaves behind the scars which cannot be removed. Hence the disease really affects your face badly. You can only hoe that you keep a distance from this disease. The causes stated by me above are quiet unique and I do feel that these points will help you in taking the precautions so that you are not affected by this disease.
